Based at Mandarin - Faralya
£165 supplement on the cost of a holiday at Mandarin
(Single Supplement £135)
Mandarin’s
mountainside setting close to the ancient Lycian Way makes this an ideal
location for a walking holiday with the added bonus of a touch of luxury to
return to. For those who like to walk
in convivial, like-minded company and who would value the guidance of someone
who is familiar with the local trails a guided walking week is often more
enjoyable than going it alone.
We have persuaded Ghislain to stay on in Turkey and lead the walk as not only is
he familiar with the tracks and paths around Faralya, but he also has a deep
understanding of local customs and culture. On some days there may be an
assistant leader in the shape of Pacha, Mandarin’s resident dog, who is equally
familiar with the terrain.
This holiday will not only enable you to discover some of the most beautiful
landscapes of this part of the country, but also to learn more about rural life
in Turkey, and to visit some of the lesser known archaeological sites.
Some days will be spent walking
in the immediate area, others will explore further afield utilising Black
Tree’s minibus for transport, and some of the walks will follow the Lycian
Way. A reasonable level of fitness and
sturdy walking boots are required, but the week’s routes are designed to allow
walkers to enjoy the countryside at a leisurely pace, not to test their
endurance.
This holiday can be extended by a second week for those who want to
spend time relaxing at Black Tree.
